Skins 3x10 Picspam

3x10 picspam

omg, this is my first picspam ever. I've wanted to make a picspam for weeks now, but I've been to lazy. Since 3x10 was the last episode was the series I finally decided to follow through and make one. You can definitely tell what I've been listening to from the songs I picked. And I just realized the layout I'm using make the pictures a lot smaller than the actually are so...

Effy

if you dig a little deeper, you will find me.
Undiscovered - James Morrison

I have gone back and forth with Effy this series. I've gone from loving her to hating her to loving her again in the span of a couple weeks. I did like her this episode though. I loved her flipping off Cook's Dad, that reminded me of the old Effy. Not that I want her to return to the Effy she was when she was 15, but it was nice to see she hadn't completely changed.

Freddie

i’m in love with a girl who’s in love with the world.
Keep it Loose, Keep it Tight – Amos Lee

I didn't really notice that Freddie makes pretty much the same face all the time until I started looking for caps to use in this picspam. I just thought I would put that out there quickly. I didn't hate Freddie this episode for the most part, which is shocking. I still think he's a funsponge that can't dress but whatever.

JJ

why can't we just rewind?
Rewind - Paolo Nutini

JJ was such a BAMF this episode. I loved every scene he was in, pretty much everything he said. He's a fabulous. I loved him calling Effy out, I loved him winning the race, everything. He's grown so much this series. While in his episode he was learning how to become more assertive and standup himself, it wasn't until this episode were everyone else started to take he more seriously. I love him.

Cookie
i am tired of being alone, so hurry up and get here.
Love Song For No One – John Mayer

ohmyheart. First let me start off with saying Jack O'Connell, is so amazing, so so amazing. If you ask me he is definitely the best actor this series, and one of the best actors ever on this show. Okay, on to Cook, heartbreaking, completely heartbreaking. I know people might disagree, but I think Cook telling Freddie that he could just let him and Effy be together showed a lot of growth. Old Cook probably would have told Freddie whatever and pretended like it didn't bother him, in that scene he was honest not only with Freddie but with himself.

Cook & Effy

i just want you closer. is that alright?
Last Request - Paolo Nutini

The first ten minutes of the episode was extremely cute. I want to like Cook and Effy and the only reason I can't ship them together is because it is obvious that Effy thinks of Cook as second best and that sucks. I think Cook deseves someone that doesn't think of him as second best. I hope he gets that next series. But they were really sweet in this episode, nonetheless. I think that Cook and Effy are very similar but the way the writers decided to show them was very different. Effy is loved by pretty much everyone while Cook is loved by nobody. They are interesting.

Freddie & Effy

there's a heart on the line, and it rests with your eyes.
White Lines - Paolo Nutini

I don't find them as interesting as I find Cook and Effy, maybe it is the fact that I don't really like Freddie. :/ I was expecting them to get together so it wasn't surprising when they did. The only thing that bothered me was the editing of their sex scene, it seemed very tasteless. You have Cook running off heartbroken with a bottle of alcohol planning to "drink himself to death" while Freddie and Effy get it on, I think it would have been better if they looked for him honestly. They are his friends.

Cook & JJ

picking up the pieces of the wreck you went and left.
Rewind - Paolo Nutini

Writers, there was nowhere near enough Cook and JJ in this episode and I was disappointed, but the scene we did get was nice. Thank you JJ for following Cook, and telling him he's not a piece of shit like he thinks he is.

Cook & Freddie

all my friends are dear to me, oh, when the storm comes they’re as close as family
All My Friends - Amos Lee

I don't have much to say other than I like their friendship. I think the final scene showed that even though they might be back at square one they have changed (JJ included). Old Cook would never have waited until Freddie offered him a seat, he would have just took it, and Freddie seemed more understanding.

The Cast

They are all amazing, and I love each and everyone of them and I think they all added something to this series. I can't wait to see them again in series 4.

IA. I don't really get people being all he should have said he was okay with it. Ummm no. This was realistic and I loved it, most people would not be okay with it. I was hoping he would say what he did because I didn't want Skins to go in the way of "lalala everything is okay now". Plus like you said Cook is actually sharing his feelings, feelings that he has never experienced before. If they had said he was okay with it, it would have diminished what he felt for Effy.

I think that Cook and Effy are very similar but the way the writers decided to show them was very different. Effy is loved by pretty much everyone while Cook is loved by nobody. They are interesting.

YES. I have to wonder why they decided to show us this journey for them. They could have chosen Freddie, it would have definitely made him more interesting. But it was Cook and Effy the not meant to be couple. Except maybe by going through it all in the next series they will come to a point where they can be together. I don't know I totally ship them.

I think that was the point. I don't think we were supposed to be all "YAY EFFY/FREDDIE IZ HAVING SEZ" cause if we were FAIL SKIN WRITERS FAIL. I saw it all about Cook's pain and showing us Freddie/Effy getting it on made us feel more for Cook. Plus it totally flipped the triangle from the beginning where we were supposed to feel for Freddie because he was in "love" with Effy and Cook and her were having sex. Now it's Effy/Freddie having sex while Cook is in love with Effy. Except that I care more for Cook so I actually feel something for him because I can believe he feel in love whereas with Freddie it just felt like artificial love.

That makes sense. The first time I saw it I was like... "what? Am I supposed to be happy Freddie and Effy got together?" It's weird the writers decided to show it that way since they spent some much time throughout the series making Freffy out to be some amazing couple.

Lovely picspam.
I also loved every scene JJ was in, he's such a wonderful and loveable character, and I loved when he was shushing Cook with his finger, so cute.
Jack O'Connell is an amazing actor, when he started crying, so did I. He did a great job it this episode, and in all the other.
Season 4 can't come soon enough, lol.

I know JJ was amazing this episode, not that he isn't usually amazing, but he was just extra amazing.

I also love your icon, lol.

thanks!

Yeah, I like how JJ was pretty much the only one not to give up completely on the trio's friendship.

This is lovely! =]
Thanks for sharing.

& I agree with you on Jack O'Connell - I'm mesmerised by his talent.
And Cookie! He is so much love. I didn't think of it that way- he does show growth when he sincerely tells Freddie he can't just let F/E be. I guess I was too wrapped up in being annoyed at Freddie for even asking that of Cook; I was all like- pfft! what gives Freddie more right to love Effy?

Your take on Effy/Cook, Cook/Freddie, Freddie/Effy makes so much sense; I totally agree.

I mentioned the juxtaposition of Freddie/Effy sex and Cook heartbreak in a blog too! The editing was definately not favourable to Freddie/Effy imo; it seems to show their relationship as more lustful now, whereas Cook's love has actually been built up. Considering that scene and their intimacy in Effy's ep, I must say that their relationship isn't being built on much but lustful, brooding stares. And I love that the scenes were done that way, really, because they justify my opposition to Freddie/Effy.
And then you have that first gorgeous opening with Effy/Cook bondage, which also opposes those F/E scenes, and you can't help but think that the writers are purposely favouring C/E together as well...(sorry for babbling on!)

the only reason I can't ship them together is because it is obvious that Effy thinks of Cook as second best and that sucks. I think Cook deseves someone that doesn't think of him as second best. I hope he gets that next series.
When you put it that way... you have a really good point! *ponders*

I was thinking this too, and it was weird to me because the writers seemed to be favoring F/E all throughout the series.
